In 2001, we formed a partnership with Northwell Health, 
the largest integrated healthcare provider in New York City. Northwell Health processes more than 30,000 tests per
day, positioning it as one of the largest clinical laboratories operating in the northeastern United States.

Its capabilities span high-throughput clinical chemistry and hematology; advanced anatomic pathology and histopathology; cytology and immunohistochemistry (IHC); molecular diagnostics and genomics; infectious disease testing; and hospital-integrated real-world clinical diagnostics – all continuously validated through CAP, NYSDOH, and CLIA certifications to ensure reproducibility, traceability, and regulatory compliance.

Northwell’s capacity for high-volume safety testing with rapid turnaround provides reliable support for sponsors, while its regulatory standing 
helps de-risk approval pathways and ensure data acceptability with the FDA and global regulators, making it particularly valuable for late-phase clinical trials and companion diagnostics.

The partnership also brings advanced capabilities in complex flow cytometry, including panels of up to 40 colors, PBMC processing, integrated histopathology and IHC, and custom assay development 
and validation.

In 2009 we formed a strategic partnership with SRL Medisearch, a Japan‑based clinical research and central laboratory organization purpose-built to serve regulated drug development programs for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries across Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.

SRL Medisearch operates as the clinical trials and CRO-focused arm of the SRL Group, Japan’s largest clinical laboratory company, now part of H.U. Group Holdings. Originally established as a joint venture between
the SRL Group and Teijin Group, a major Japanese pharmaceutical and life sciences company, SRL Medisearch combined central laboratory services with CRO capabilities. Its offering encompassed central laboratory testing for clinical trials, phase I–III clinical research support, clinical trial project management, data management and biostatistics, medical writing, regulatory-grade sample storage, CLIA-certified laboratory operations, and support for Japanese PMDA and global regulatory submissions.

The division of strengths between our two organizations was clear and complementary. We lead on global trial design, central laboratory coordination, and specialty assays, while SRL Medisearch provides Japanese operations, local sample processing, and regulatory compliance expertise. Together, we form a Japan-ready extension of 
our global network, giving Western pharmaceutical and biotech companies a pathway to Japanese trial data without the need to build local infrastructure.

In 2018 we established a long-term partnership with Teddy Clinical Research Laboratories, one of China’s
leading central laboratories dedicated to clinical trials, headquartered in Shanghai.

China represents a core geography for global drug development, yet its highly specific regulatory requirements, local data handling obligations, and limited acceptance of export-only testing models make local laboratory partnerships essential. Teddy Clinical Research Laboratories brought more than 12 years of experience in regulated clinical research, deep familiarity with the Chinese regulatory environment, and a strong reputation for high-quality central laboratory services, including proven performance during COVID-19 vaccine and drug trials. By 2025, the laboratory had also achieved CAP accreditation.

Teddy was not a new contact for us but a long-standing trusted partner with an established track record across specialty assay transfers, study-specific testing, and global logistics and trial coordination. This existing relationship made the deeper integration a low-risk, high-synergy step, extending our global central laboratory network into one of the world’s most strategically important clinical trial markets.

In 2018 we formed a joint venture with Lancet Labs,
one of Africa’s most established private clinical pathology and diagnostic laboratory groups, headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Lancet Labs is a leading private pathology provider with a nationwide presence across all nine provinces of South Africa and operations in more than 14 countries across Southern, Eastern, and Western Africa.

Its comprehensive pathology portfolio includes clinical chemistry and hematology, microbiology and virology (encompassing TB and HIV testing), molecular diagnostics and genetics, histopathology, cytopathology and immunohistochemistry, endocrinology and toxicology, occupational health testing, and specialty and esoteric assays. All services operate under international quality standards, with SANAS accreditation and ISO 15189 and ISO 9001 certification, ensuring reliable, regulator-ready results.

The partnership combines Lancet Labs’s scale and regional expertise with our international quality frameworks and specialty diagnostics, significantly strengthening the reach and depth of clinical research and diagnostic services available across the African continent.

In July 2021, Cerba Research entered a strategic joint venture with ACT Genomics to establish CerbACT Asia, a purpose‑built precision medicine facility in Taiwan serving the broader Asia‑Pacific region.

The partnership expands our specialty capabilities with advanced flow cytometry, IHC and diagnostic histopathology, PBMC isolation, and translational science services, supported by state‑of‑the‑art technologies and deep scientific expertise from both organizations.

CerbACT Asia strengthens our global footprint and enhances our ability to support biotech and pharma partners with high-impact solutions across all phases of clinical trials, particularly in oncology and precision medicine.
