Jelle van Gils

Chief Quality Officer (CQO)

Jelle van Gils is the Cerba Research Chief Quality Officer and has over thirty years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry holding various Quality Management functions at leading companies.

Jelle joins Cerba Research from argenx where she held the position of Head Quality Systems and Process Improvement, responsible for building a Quality Management System capable of supporting a rapidly growing organization. In addition, she successfully implemented the Clinical Trail Regulation via compliant re-design of processes and procedures.

Earlier during her career at Janssen, Jelle took up positions with increasing leadership responsibilities in quality management, driving the strategy for multiple global quality & compliance programmes and improvement initiatives for GCP, GVP and Business Quality. She also implemented a role-based training model and an effective curriculum across the organisation.

Prior to this Jelle was Director Quality Assurance at SGS Life Science Services, where she was Member of the Board and responsible for the quality systems of the 3 main company entities, managing different QA Managers for GCP, GLP, GMP and Head of the Computer System Validation Group.

Jelle holds a Master in Biology with an additional 4 years of PhD studies in Biotechnology at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. She also is a certified Auditor and certified Process Excellence Green Belt.
